Institutional practices that make a meaningful difference

Our Institutional Practices

Practices That Empower Students

At A.V. Kanthamma College for Women, our institutional practices focus on academic support, personal development, employability, confidence and the overall growth of every student.

01
Student-Centred Practice

Mentoring for Every Student

Objective

To provide every student with a dedicated teacher-mentor who supports her academic progress, attendance, personal development and overall well-being.

The Practice

Students are organised into small mentoring groups and assigned to faculty mentors. Regular interactions help mentors monitor academic performance, attendance and individual needs while identifying slow and advanced learners.

Students requiring additional academic support are connected with remedial assistance, while advanced learners are encouraged through enrichment activities, guidance and additional learning opportunities.

Outcome

The practice contributes to improved attendance, early identification of academic difficulties, better student engagement and a stronger sense of belonging within the institution.

02
Empowerment & Employability

Skill Development & Women Empowerment

Objective

To equip young women with practical, communication and career-oriented skills that complement their academic education and help them become confident and self-reliant.

The Practice

The institution promotes certificate courses, communication programmes, computer-skill workshops, career guidance and awareness initiatives designed to strengthen students' employability.

Students are also encouraged to develop awareness of legal rights, health, financial literacy, higher education opportunities and competitive examinations.

Outcome

These initiatives help improve student confidence, communication skills, digital awareness and placement readiness while encouraging participation in higher studies and competitive examinations.
